Dr Andrew Sutherland
Dr Andrew Sutherland is a specialist colorectal and general surgeon who has been serving the Coffs Harbour community since 2009. Originally from Melbourne, Dr Sutherland graduated from the University of Melbourne and completed his advanced surgical training at St Vincent’s Hospital.
After being awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2006, he was selected for the highly competitive post-fellowship training program with the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ). His sub-specialty training included a year at Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand—a major centre for complex pelvic surgery—and a year at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, focusing on laparoscopic surgery and inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr Sutherland is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care and is an active member of the multi-disciplinary cancer care team at Coffs Harbour, specialising in the treatment of colorectal cancers, laparoscopic surgery, and functional pelvic floor disorders.
